Staff Focus: Jill Harris

We recently chatted with Lead Bartender, Jill Harris, who started as a Server on the week of our first birthday in October 2021. "After turning 21, I began to profess an interest in bartending. I began training and was promoted to a Lead Bartender at the beginning of this year."

"On any given day, you can find me anywhere in the House — from the Rooftop or Social Hall bar, to working private events, Birdie's, and even sometimes on barista! On top of bartending, I (alongside Carlo), have taken on the role of house plant care."

Jill is a graduate of VCU (2023) and is now finishing up her first year of grad school at VCU to acquire her Master's in Criminal Justice. Outside of CH, you'll find her caring for her 35+ houseplants, skiing whenever she can, and embracing a rediscovered love of literature.

"Common House has been the longest workplace I've ever worked, and I personally credit that to the family dynamic of the staff here. I have made so many close friends and relationships during my employment here that I am so grateful for. My favorite part of working at Common House is its multifaceted structure, which ensures my day-to-day is constantly evolving, leaving no room for monotony."
